This is Ryan's first release for the label and we think it's a perfect fit for our 50th. Ryan is an “old school” Midwest producer and DJ who helped found the ever-popular record store Vital Vinyl. He has been a consistent purveyor of a dub/house vibe that always sets the perfect mood for any listening experience. His single, See the Light , reflects this love for house and dub music. A super groovy bass line rolls through, while the mild percussive rhythms push the song forward with grace and poise. See the Light is the perfect track for cooling the crowd down and dropping them into a deep heady vibe. Next we have a remix from Dope Recordings founder Roy England that embraces the history of the label. This is an old school rave track perfect for jackin’ a dark sweaty warehouse. A massive synth reminiscent of those early 90's big pants and pacifier days takes this track right over the top. Classic tribal congas and sweeping synths come together for a delectable techno buffet destined to leave any music lover asking for seconds. Finally we have label co-founder Attentat's remix, which is a slogging funk party for deranged bass junkies. A slap-you-in-the-face bass line punches through this track with subtle brutality. Fluttering micro-sounds and a crisp clean snare pull all the disconcerting rhythms together making the dance floor feel like a space ship to another dimension: A dimension of cyber-funk. This one is for all the night owls who just can't go home until they have exhausted every last muscle of their hot and sweaty bodies. |
